Cooktown Orchid

We were given a theme to follow when coming up with a design for this signal box, which was the Q150 celebration. One of the artists at the Moorooka Day Service (Cerebral Palsy League) is very interested in gardening and flowers, so we decided to paint the Cooktown Orchid, the floral emblem for Queensland. We also felt the bright, bold colours of the signal box would suit the location of the signal box which is surrounded by bright shops and jacaranda trees.
