Changes of Camp Hill
Aedan's box tells a bit of history of the Camp hill area. Starting from the top as the oldest down to the bottom and the things around now days. This box is titled "Changes of Camp Hill". It incorporates all that he has learnt at school and from the internet about the Camp Hill area. Starting with the aboriginal painted styled sun and some indigenous people on a walkabout as to recognise aboriginals as the first Australians and traditional owners. The moon and southern cross, going on to show some tents, camp fires, travellers who would stay over and use as a rest place, stock route, a soldier, the old school which burnt down twice, roses for the rose farm that was once on Bennents Rd, poppies representing remembrance of our soldiers who have gone to war to give us our freedom we have today (which will also be 100th year anniversary of Gallipoli next year). The old steam tram, a traditional and typical Queenslander you would find nowadays and a modern day car. So Camp Hill has seen many big changes over last 165 years in Australia.
