Emblem

‘Emblem’ celebrates the majestic native species Eucalyptus globulus, commonly known as a Tasmanian blue gum or southern blue gum. Until 2017, a blue gum stood as an important natural landmark on the corner of Davey St and Molle St in Hobart. This artwork is a tribute to that magnificent and much-loved tree; a recognition of its importance as one of the endemic species of south-eastern Australia and the floral emblem of Tasmania; and a celebration of the flora and fauna that share space and connection with Eucalyptus trees.’
